چکیده

Abstract This study aimed to compare the availability of supplies and amalgam composite resin restorations among Oral Health Teams (OHT) in Brazilian regions. Secondary data were extracted from Modules I II 1st (2012) V VI 2nd (2014) 3rd cycle (2017) external evaluation National Program for Access Quality Primary Care2. The proportions between regions cycles compared using Chi-square test with z-test adjusted by Bonferroni method (p<0.05). Among 2012, 2014, 2017 there was a significant reduction proportion OHT that performed (87.5%, 89.2%, 80.2%; p<0.001) an increase (92.5 %, 97.7%, 99.0%; p<0.001), same trend (p<0.001). Amalgamator decreased 2012 (99.0%), 2014 (98.4%) (85.6%) Amalgam lower (80.1%), (87.5%) (97.5%) light curing (p<0.001), being less available North (95.7%) light-curing increased (94.1%), (96.6%) (97.0%) no only (p=0.134). While restoration, period evaluated all However, regional disparities are still evident, fewer restorative services region.

Dental trauma: restorative procedures using composite resin and mouthguards for prevention.

AIM The aim of this article is to describe a step-by-step protocol for emergency care of a patient with a dentoalveolar injury in the anterior region of the mouth as well as the fabrication of a mouthguard to prevent future trauma. BACKGROUND Dental trauma is one of the most serious oral health problems in active children and adolescents. Care of traumatized patients requires immediate initia...

Microleakage in combined amalgam/composite resin restorations in MOD cavities

Aim: To compare marginal seal at tooth-material and material-material interfaces in the proximal box in combined amalgam/composite resin restorations. Methods: Mesio-occlusal-distal (MOD) cavities were prepared in 35 premolars and permanent molars with carbide bur. The distal proximal box was restored with amalgam (Permite, SDI) until reaching the height of pulpal floor. Dental tissues were etc...

Do Dental Resin Composites Accumulate More Oral Biofilms and Plaque than Amalgam and Glass Ionomer Materials?

A long-time drawback of dental composites is that they accumulate more biofilms and plaques than amalgam and glass ionomer restorative materials. It would be highly desirable to develop a new composite with reduced biofilm growth, while avoiding the non-esthetics of amalgam and low strength of glass ionomer. The objectives of this study were to: (1) develop a protein-repellent composite with re...

Composite resin support of undermined enamel in amalgam restorations.

PURPOSE Previous reports suggested that cusp fracture strength increases with the use of bonded composites. The purpose of this study was to assess fracture resistance of undermined cusps, when supported by a layer of bonded composite, in extensive occlusal carious lesions. METHODS Primary and permanent molars in children that were treated included those with extensive occlusal caries with un...

Properties of dual-cure, bulk-fill composite resin restorative materials.

The purpose of this study was to compare the properties of 2 new dual-cure, bulk-fill restorative composite resins to those of a hybrid composite resin material. Depth of cure, fracture toughness, porosity, microleakage, and volumetric shrinkage properties were examined. With the exception of fracture toughness, significant differences were found among materials. Compared to the incrementally p...
